I am running Linux since years.
I installed the latest .deb file from the download link (Which is V 6.0.0)
Now how do I upgrade to 6.0.4? that I could not figure out.
I did find an entry that pointed me to Releases · jmichault/gramps · GitHub
and that shows at least V6.0.3
Do I just wait a day and then we get a .deb file for 6.0.4?
My guess is that it will be much more than a day, but I don’t know how long, or if it will happen. Even though I checked frequently, I never saw Debian packages for 6.0.1, 6.0.2, or 6.0.3. I did attempt to compile 6.0.1 from source a while back, but I could not get it to work.
My guess is that the instructions for compiling from source have not been updated for 6.0 and I was missing one or more steps. I would like to update to 6.0.4 as it includes some updates that I have patched 6.0.0 for, but I don’t know if I want to put the effort into it to find out what I am missing regarding compiling from source.
I’ll build one for you, but the Windows build and PyPI upload failed so I’ll need to look at those first.
The virtual machine that I build the Snap and Debian package on has also run out of disk space. This isn’t a problem, but you have to be patient. I am busy with other things apart from Gramps.
Great work as ever apologies if my previous appeared a bit terse was not
meant to be taken in that vain I know you have a lot of other priorities
and the .deb was well down the list.
Big thanks again to Nick and all the team
