Hi, I am using gramps 5.2.3 on zorin os 17.2 and encountered a strange behavior.
The calculated age seems to be of by one year.
for both dates (birth and dead I set date as a gregorian one)
From my calculations age should be 67 and not 68. How is this possible?
Edit Preferences do you have “Round the Year” checked

I had to search a bit because the translation is pretty poor. The German translation into English is something like “the whole year around.” Of course, with a little creativity, this could mean something like “around the year,” but “Auf volle Jahre runden” would probably be more accurate.
Anyway, your hint was the perfectly right one for me. thank you.
Yes, we had several strong discussions revolving around rounding options.
Round “up” at .5 or merely anything over the whole? Or round off (aka truncate)?
Will have to look for which rounding method was chosen.

Two things here, sounds more like the German translation of the English
is not very explicit/precise also in my version of rounding anything
above the number and you go up so even 65.00001 rounded is 66 would
suspect having an arbitrary value for the point of rounding would cause
even more confusion. Although as ever if you could set the value for
yourself then that might be a better alternative (of course my value
would be 0)

A better explanation of the way I think on this is:-
On the day before my birthday at 23:59:59 if asked my age I would say 50 implicit to this is that I am just completing my 51st year. at 00:00:00 I am now 51 and just starting my Fifty Second year.
If I were to die in this year and should I have a headstone in the classical UK manner that would be inscribed “died in the 52nd year of his age”.

just installed 6.0.1
translation is better there:

I disabled rounding feature because rounding of the age seems to me not good and I kind of think like phil.
