I’ve had Gramps installed on my (Linux) systems for many years now, but have only recently exported data to a ged-file. When opening it in a text-editor I noticed, that the file contained my full name and an email address (albeit with a double @). That would not worry me, it’s all fine, however the email address that Gramps has on record is outdated and will no longer work.
So: how can I access and change this data?
There are separate Researcher and Tree Database Owner contacts stored in the Gramps Trees.
Set the Researcher via its Preferences tab.
There is a tool for keying in the Database Owner contact info. (Or for syncing the Researcher and Owner):
Tools → Family Tree Processing → Edit Database Owner Information…
There are Enhancement Requests filed for these features:
- 0006365: ability to select person for Researcher from existing person in Family Tree. - Gramps - Bugtracker – Free Genealogy Software
