Missing output formats in DenominoViso web report

Gramps 6.0.6, MacOS 15.7.3 (Sequoia)

This is a nice addon.

The help page for DenominoViso (https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php?title=Addon:DenominoViso) lists five display types: Regular, Fan, Growth Spiral, Mandelbrot Tree and Pythagoras Tree, but only two, Regular and Fan, are given as options when generating the web page. There is a note “Some of the Display type: graph options do not work correctly” under the Issues heading.

Are the Growth Spiral, Mandelbrot Tree and Pythagoras Tree display types unavailable because they do not work, or is there something I can add/tweak to my installation to enable them?

I’m using Gramps 6.0.6 on Windows 11 and all of those options are available in the ‘display type’ dropdown. All of them do produce output but, for me, they are not very useful presentations of the tree.

Thank you stuck. I admit I was interested in the three missing types in my installation from a nerdy perspective based solely on the Mandelbrot and Pythagoras tree names. Since my original post I have found generic versions of the charts on the web. The regular and fan types are nice ways to explore portions of my tree.

@Link to tag someone you need to preceed their user name with an @ sign.

The missing options in your setup look like an issue with the Mac version but until another Mac user chips in and reports their experience that’s just a guess.

I use a Mac Tahoe with Gramps 6.0.6 . I loaded the DenominoViso gramplet and tested. There should be no differences based on OS. But there is a difference based on Display Mode.

  • Display Mode = Ancestor, you get all 5 Display Types
  • Display Mode = Descendant, you get only 2 Display Types

@stuck and @GaryGriffin, thank you. The same options are available to me as Gary. I had failed to explore Ancestor display mode.
