The Gramps Web category has become one of the most dynamic sections of the forum.
Does it need some subcategories to make it both: less intimidating to new visitors; and, more searchable?
If so, what subs?
We can do some bulk moves to make a cleaner slate too.
And it might be time to review the Welcome message.
Tagging @DavidMStraub because I expect his Discourse might be set to have blinders to look at just the 1 category or tagging.
Yes, I think it’s a great idea. What about:
- Installation/configuration
- Help (everything that’s not about installation/configuration)
- Ideas (improvement suggestions)
- Development
Perhaps we should avoid category names that are the same as for an existing category … or subdivide the existing ones with subcategories for the different Frontends
Please keep all the web stuff under the main category and add subs as needed. I would not like the web stuff under the existing categories. I have no interest in the web stuff so I have muted the category.
I agree it’s better to keep it separate - it will lead to less confusion about what users are asking.
just prefix the categories, something like:
[GrampsWeb] Installation/Configuration
etc… or something similar but simpler…
