Addon:DownloadMedia - not working for Geni Gedcom

I’m using GRAMPS portable: AIO64-5.2.2-r1-f905d14 on a Win11 pro 22H2 machine.

Despite the DownloadMedia addon being specifically targeted for Geni photo downloads, it doesn’t work at least in my case. It comes up with an error for all the 600 media links none of those gets downloaded.

The URLs are as follows (each has a long hash number appended):

As a workaround I was able to download all the media with a chrome browser extension to download https links (Tabsave), however the resulting media cannot be relinked automatically to the profiles because Gramps expects different file names which use the hash portion of the link instead of the .jpg name.
