There is another thing, maybe worth thinking about, and that’s the what’s next Gramplet, that you can see on the main page. It could give a warning, when it sees a base path with the .media extension, with a link to a how-to.
You can indeed say that the term ‘save’ is a bit misleading, because it’s already implied by export. OTOH, this type of export does indeed mean that you’re saving data to a file on disk.
My personal view is that programs should never create pop-up with lots of text after completion of a task, because when something is done, all that I want as a user is to get on with other things, liking working with my new tree.
Is the what’s next Gramplet on main page as standard? It is quite new, and I saw it first after last upgrade.
I agree on your point of view about pop-ups after task completion. Because that popup led me into trouble.
Yes, some ToDo’s to get it right with the imported media on “What’s Next” could be a nice alternative.
I have no idea when the What’s Next Gramplet appeared, but it could give a hint, when it sees a weird path.
OTOH, for this particular subject, I often notice that people don’t see the logic, and if you don’t see that, long explanations often don’t work either.
And like I wrote earlier, we already have loads of documentation on the wiki, and earlier threads on this forum.
