No sorry but whatever they are using has been very effective.
We have funds available for upgrades if anyone has a good suggestion.
Thanks Nick but no need so far; as the combination of blocking IPs temporarily at the host and using the CDN from the free Cloudflare service works for the short period of time that this happens. If that changes I’ll ask.
Bot traffic peaks shown are May 31st / June 2nd / June 4th / June 6th
Before that the last intense bot traffic was back in April as per this report.
Been updating the user manual and getting this
with no interaction from me it quickly goes away; It is from cloudflare and shows about once every 20 minutes or so; or when I attempt multiple edits in quick succession.
@gramps-project Thanks for making the wiki usable, as some of the other wikis I help out on have been barely functional for the last month or so
@Gioto Thanks
It was ok for about three days but looks like for the last 5 hours the bots have started up again! I have updated robots.txt with all known crawlers and blocking IP’s temporary as identified!
I’ll update when this peak has passed! Seems to have abated with the latest additions to robots.txt!
I wonder if these spikes are related to AIs building knowledge bases?
Maybe @dsblank can suggest ways to determine that?
