I am new to Gramps, using version 6.0.5 on MacOS 15.7.2. I would like to create a vertical family tree as PDF. When I click on Create (in Rapports) I cannot find a way to select a vertical tree. Do I need a plugin or something ?. Thanks ---

Welcome! I put in “vertical family tree” in a web search. With all the reports doing different things and having different names, I was trying to get a sense of what you wanted. ‘[Descendants Lines](https://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Addon:DescendantsLines)’ does exactly what I was looking for, and I now know how to add extensions. Thanks for your response to my question. ---

You didn’t mention if you want a text or graphical report. Within graphical reports, [_Family Lines_](https://www.gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Gramps_6.0_Wiki_Manual_-_Reports_-_part_5#Family_Lines_Graph) has a layout parameter allowing to develop the diagram along any axis: upwards, downwards, leftward or rightward. ---

Glad to hear that. There’s another addon you might be interested in, which allows you to build your tree via a ‘vertical tree’ but it’s not available in the plugin manager until you set it up as a ‘project’ in the plugin manager. It’s called ‘FamilyTreeView’ and there are two (very) long topics about it.
