New Gramplet: DNA Matches

The key point for me seems to be in the list going down from the Active
to the Home Person

father of X, Philip
husband of Y, Florence [second cousin four times removed (up]
child of Y, Harriet [first cousin five times removed (up]

The change of meaning from a relation(genetic link) to a connection (non
genetic link) occurs at the point where you lose the relationship
information. The added complication here for me is that Philip X’s real
surname is my mother’s maiden name and hence must at some point be
linked in to her tree.

Looking at this inspired me to take a look at the Isotammi Deep Connections Graph.

What an excellent tool well done all concerned it really highlights where the connections are made by Association or Events.

I have 2 minor issues neither of which will stop me using it

  1. The mix of two languages but you are well warned in advance
  2. Why it uses the Dashboard (never have it on waste of screen real estate) and it is not on the Toolbar.

To add to the discussion about my particular family using the Graph highlighted part of the Connection was via Census Events whilst the
Association gave a direct link as you would expect.

It did not appear to detect the lady who had 2 husbands and the amorous brother of 1 husband (deceased) as the fathers of her various children.

Fantastic Resource thanks again
