Gramps 5.1.6 on Win10/64 (I cannot use a newer version of Gramps due to performance issues)

Using the Narrated Web Report with OSM as map provider produces only an empty black frame where the map should be. I browsed a lot of discussions here and on the Bug Tracker and my understanding is that this is the consequence of some changes in the used API. The issue appears to be solvable by hacking some local Gramps py modules but I haven’t found any clear instructions for 5.1.6. Can somebody please help me?

TIA – Ulrich

> Thanks for posting the adoptions in the bug report: If you want to continue to use openlayers, you need to change the following lines: in the place.py from the webreport directory replace “latest” by “v6.15.1” at lines 387 and 390 and in person.py in the same directory replace “latest” by “v6.15.1” at lines 722 and 725 Then you create the report again. Please could you explain how to find the “webreport directory” resp. place.py person.py. I can find frame\_place.py and page\_place.py, but …

I found this as well but my understanding was that this hack is applicable to v6.2. So I probably misunderstood something. Thanks, I’ll give it a try!

This version number is related to the openlayers libraries. It is gramps independant. So this will work with all gramps version.
