# Migration problems particularly with media path

Gramps 6.0.8 running on Linux Ubuntu 22.04

I’ve migrated a ged file successfully but am having trouble inking media files to events

Going to “Edit - Preferences and Family tree tab” I can edit the “Base Media Path” using the button on the right. After navigating the following windows I get the correct display in the Base-Media\_path window eg /home/user/Pictures/Ancestry

I then exit preferences and try to access a media and get the message

External program cannot acce file at /home/user/Pictures/Ancestry/Pictures

I have tried many variations of media path without any success even to creating a path that the external proggy is looking for.  
Should I assume that Gramps on Linux Ubuntu is currently a no go
