For the This Day in Family History addon, I tried changing the Home Person and editing a person, but the addon remains stuck on yesterday, which is when I closed and re-opened Gramps. I might just have to get into the habit of not leaving the program running overnight, which isn’t the end of the world.

I never leave Gramps running overnight or if I step away from the computer and expect the computer to go to sleep.

As to resetting the app for a new day… try modifying one of its configuration settings, then changing it back to your desired setting. Have no idea if it works, cannot test because I close Gramps overnight

You’re right about this; it didn’t work for me either. What worked to refresh the data is to close the gramplet and add it back to the dashboard. Give that a try.

Looking through the “Signals and Callbacks” [wiki page](https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Signals_and_Callbacks) and [developer docs](https://gramps-project.org/docs/gen/gen_utils.html#module-gramps.gen.utils.callback) did not indicate a Gramps signal to be monitored for refreshing after a date change.

And Perplexity had [a possibly useful response for coding such a feature](https://www.perplexity.ai/search/6a8e379c-01a4-4006-9598-5386ddcb8589) to the prompt:

> I have a question related to the Signals and Callbacks in Gramps (see [https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Signals\_and\_Callbacks](https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Signals_and_Callbacks) and [https://gramps-project.org/docs/gen/gen\_utils.html#gramps.gen.utils.callman.CallbackManager](https://gramps-project.org/docs/gen/gen_utils.html#gramps.gen.utils.callman.CallbackManager) ) Is there a signal for either “wake from sleep” or change in the time/date ? (So a Gramplet could be refreshed on: wake, after an hour, change of date)
