By setting the database path in preferences to the folder with the .grdb files, the Manage Family Trees dialog should list the tree. The Load button reads the database file.
Load is somewhat of a misnomer as the trees tend to be too large to load in their entirety. Python typically limits the scope, just reading in a thousand records for the current view category.
