# Grandparents how to add

To add Grandparents you have to add parents first. And then add their parents.

I use the [Relationships view](https://gramps-project.org/wiki/index.php/Gramps_5.2_Wiki_Manual_-_Categories#Relationships_Category). It works off of the Active Person. The view displays and allows you to add the active person’s Parents, Siblings, and their Families with Spouses and Children. Change the active person and you then do the same for that person
