# Genealogical symbols and python-fontconfig on linux mint

Gramps 5.1.6  
OS: Linux Mint 21.2 x86\_64  
Host: B550 AORUS MASTER  
Kernel: 5.15.0-78-generic

Hi,

I’m having problems getting Symbols to work. Cant find a compatible python-fontconfig with my machine…  
Any Ideas?

You might want to put it off until until the 5.2 Beta. The Preferences tab is changed for symbols and your work might have to be expended again.

Thanks, no rush, it wasn’t working for sometime now anyway. this screenshot sure does looks promising.
