@emyoulation this is a good idea, but I think we should consider it beyond this one filter. It would be nice if we could apply a temp theme to a given selection. Of course we have tagging that can do that, but would probably be overkill for a single filter application. Let’s think about this as a gramps core feature.
Since you have found some hidden bugs, perhaps you could backport it for 5.1? From GrampsUser Mailing List postings, it appears that @bugbear is running a highly customized 5.1 version. So it would seem courteous to make a version that he would be able to use as the first backport.
Done!
Ooops. That PR is in the 5.2 branch. I think the main addon compatibility change between 5.1 and 5.2 were some new .gpr.py keys needed when moving from the Addon management in Preferences to the new Addon Manager
Can this be backported to the 5.1 addons branch?
I ran the 5.2 version on Gramps 5.1 (changing the version number) and it seemed to work fine for me.
I ran the 5.1 version on my Mac 5.1.6 gramps. Some times it works and other times it crashes (seg fault core dump). No traceback other than the core file. Not reproducible when it crashes. For instance, I loaded the example file. Searched for father = James. Worked, worked again, then crashed.
5.2 version did not crash.
I’ll take a look. Thanks for feedback.
