# Cannot add Tags in PortableApps Gramps

Situation:
GRAMPS: AIO32-5.1.5-1
Python: 3.6.4 (default, Jan 23 2018, 13:40:26) …
BSDDB: 6.1.0 (6, 0, 30)
sqlite: 3.21.0 (2.6.0)
LANG: en\_US.UTF-8
OS: Windows
I cannot find a way to add tags to Gramps in the [Portableapps.com](http://Portableapps.com) distribution. There is no “Tag” selection under the Edit menu and selecting the Tag Icon when an individual is being edited only results in a blank list. The Add/Remove Tag Tool doesn’t work because there are no initial Tags to process. Is there a data file which might be missing in the distribution? I only just started using Gramps and getting tagging to work would be very beneficial. Thanks.

Welcome! Which of the left-hand category views are you in? The Edit → Tag option doesn’t appear in the Dashboard, Relationships, and Geography views, but only in the other views.

Wow, that was quick! I happened to be in the Relationships and alternatively Dashboard view, which didn’t show the Tag option in the Edit menu. Going to the People view ended up showing the option. Thank you very much.
I now get to play around with Tags!
