Seeing this in the console when I go into the Geography view (second and subsequent times in a session) with Gramps GrampsAIO-5.2.0-r1-9ccbd1b; do _not_ see the same message with Gramps 5.1.6: `(gramps.exe:4368): OsmGpsMap-CRITICAL **: 13:21:06.676: Map source setup called twice` ---

It looks like this is a regression. It was reported in bug [#12352](https://gramps-project.org/bugs/view.php?id=12352), which was fixed in v5.1.5. See pull request [#1283](https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps/pull/1283): OsmGpsMap-CRITICAL: Map source setup called twice. ---

I haven’t checked any of these, but in 5.1, I found an issue with the map service, where the URL generated by Gramps triggers a 404 error. I have a fix for this. Can we find a way to add that to the beta? ---

He just did some [changes necessitated by access changes in the Stamen map service](https://github.com/gramps-project/gramps/pull/1530). Maybe they are related? Thank you @Nick-Hall and @SNoiraud. From the PR you mentioned, it’s clear that the message which appears as a “CRITICAL” message actually isn’t. Do we have known issues section for Gramps where we could document that this is ignorable? ---

@SNoiraud Has the Map Tile file format support changed? MapForFree .png tiles cached for from 5.1.6 were not recognized by Gramps 5.2 (AIO beta1 and beta2) when copied into the tile cache for 5.2 beta 1 and beta2. (The Windows map tile cache was in a dramatically different location than for 5.1.6 version.) When the file was resaved as `.jpg` then teh Geography view loaded them properly. (I wanted to test the Geography view with an offline computer. Gramps was installed from a thumbdrive.) ---
